De otte universiteters tilskud beregnes forholdsmæssigt efter omsætning. Udbetalingerne fra SDC til de danske universiteter dækker over ph.d.-medfinansiering samt kompensation for uddannels Uddannelse SDC udbyder otte kandidatuddannelser. På hver uddannelse kan optages 15 studerende via de danske universiteter og 15 studerende via University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Uddannelserne Water and Environment og Nanoscience and Technology er forankrede på Københavns Universitet.
