Consultation ends on 7 Aug. CLG – ‘Houses in multiple occupation’ Communities and Local Government (CLG) is seeking views on three options for addressing the impact of high concentrations of ‘houses in multiple occupation’ (HMOs). Consultation ends on 7 Aug. BIS – Employment ‘blacklists’ The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has launched a consultation on new regulations that will make it unlawful for trade union members to be denied employment through secret blacklists. Consultation ends on 18 Aug. DWP – From ‘sick notes’ to ‘fit notes’ The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is consulting on the new medical ‘fit note’ that would replace the current ‘sick note’. The government is proposing to change the format and content of medical statements that indicate whether a patient is fit for work. Consultation closes on 19 Aug. Ofcom – Three-digit number for non-emergency healthcare Ofcom is consulting on plans to introduce a three-digit phone number to access non-emergency NHS services in England. The phone number would be an entry point for patients seeking NHS services. Consultation ends on 20 Aug. Scottish Government – Better diabetes care The Scottish Government is consulting on a revised action plan for diabetes care that will be published in November. Comments are invited on issues such as clinical standards, education needs, transitional care and the availability of insulin pump therapy. Views sought by 22 Aug. CQC – Registration of health and adult social care services The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has launched a consultation on the registration of health and adult social care services. Views are sought on guidance about what services must do to meet the government’s registration requirements. Consultation closes on 24 Aug. Welsh Assembly Gov’t – Encouraging people to exercise The Welsh Assembly Government has launched a consultation on its ‘Climbing Higher’ proposals, which seek to encourage exercise in people’s daily routines. Consultation closes on 25 Aug. MHRA – Review of unlicensed medicines The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is consulting on its review of unlicensed medicines, which addresses quality standards, product labelling, and reporting of suspected adverse drug reactions. Consultation closes on 4 Sept. Defra – ‘Eco-design of energy-using products...’ Defra has launched a consultation on ‘implementation of the market surveillance and compliance requirements’ of the ‘EU Eco-design of Energy-Using Products and Energy Labelling Framework Directives’. Views are sought by 4 Sept. BORIS CONSULTS ON LONDON LANDMARK VIEWS London mayor, Boris Johnson, has launched a consultation on the ‘Draft Revised London View Management Framework’. The new draft guidance is designed to ensure that new development adds to London’s existing built heritage and character and also does not obscure existing landmarks. Consultation ends on 4 Sept. the UK, and a regulatory framework for coal-fired power stations that would encourage the deployment of CCS technologies. Consultation ends on 9 Sept. National Express East Anglia – More room on its trains Views are being sought on the recently announced plans to improve trains’ capacity. The inquiry will examine the role of these sectors in the economy, access the effect of the recession on them, and ask how effective government has been in supporting these two industries.
